Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation includes broad treatment of the spine ranging from mild mobilization to movements that offer a short, sharp thrust to a transverse or spinous process to relieve any joint restriction that may be present to improve overall range of motion.  The “thrusts” are low amplitude, high velocity with the patient positioned very carefully and specifically to have a desired effect over a specific area.  Oftentimes, there can be an audible popping sound heard with a manipulation.  The cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacroiliac regions can all receive spinal manipulation as well as the rib joints.
